Our full spectrum Natural CBD oil is formulated from winterized raw CO2 extracts, blended with a base carrier oil.
There are several stages to the process. The first stage is CO2 extraction, followed by dewaxing, dewatering and final blending and homogenization.
Supercritical CO2 extraction uses carbon dioxide as a solvent under high pressure and low temperatures. This removes the cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids and plant waxes from the hemp biomass. It comes out as a thick green/brown paste that needs further purification.
In the second stage of winterization, most of the waxes are removed as well as any excess water. This is now a liquid form that can be blended with a carrier oil.
Natural oils contain chlorophyll, they are mildly bitter in taste and dark green in colour. Variations of colour and taste depend on the potency of the product and batch of extract.
The product is non-decarboxylated and contains neutral and acid forms of CBD/CBG (i.e. CBD/CBG and CBDA/CBGA).
