Cannabidiol (CBD) occurs in abundance in the hemp plant. The raw cannabis plant contains the acidic form CBDA cannabidiolic acid. After harvest and processing, the CBDA turns to CBD by a process called decarboxylation. This happens with exposure to UV light or by the application of heat.
